Freaks with the spreadsheets
When Helen and I started working together in 2021, we were each working as both production managers and line producers for mostly European, American, and UK-based clients whose projects needed to shoot in Sweden or other Nordic countries (also Poland). We had both recently moved to Stockholm, and we clicked immediately. It wasn’t just our shared experience and enthusiasm for working on set —whether it’s producing content for TV, film, documentaries, or commercial shoots —but our mutual love for the “nerdier” side of the business: spreadsheets, planning documents, and production management systems.
Production managers, 2nd ADs, and hardcore project managers can appreciate the satisfying feeling of sending out a *beautifully* detailed call sheet (even if we know some crew will never even read it!). It’s a weird dopamine rush but if you know, you know! From meticulously tracking production budgets to comparing “sexy” improvements to our production budget tracking templates, Helen and I have fun with these often-overlooked aspects of video production. Sure, on the surface, managing reports and call sheets may sound dry and we make jokes about it being “production nerds”, but we all know a well-organized production manager is the backbone of any successful shoot—whether it's a non-scripted travel TV show in Stockholm, a feature film in Norway, or a commercial shoot elsewhere in Europe.
At the core of our video production services is the ability to create a seamless and friendly process for everyone involved. Our approach isn’t just about the creativity required to create great content for TV and film; it’s about ensuring everything runs like clockwork. That means detailed schedules, comprehensive production reports, and, of course, foolproof budget management. Without these, even the most exciting projects can quickly spiral.
So yes, while we joke about showing off our perfectly aligned Google Sheets and production reports, these tools are what help us deliver high-quality content on time and within budget—whether we’re producing in Sweden, Denmark, or anywhere else in Europe. Because, in the end, the “boring” part of the job makes the magic possible.
And hey, if you ever want to geek out over call sheets with us, we’re always ready!
